'Avatar' Leads Box Office for 4th Straight Week

Sunday brought James Cameron's newest flick to the end of it's fourth week at number 1 in the box office, making it the second-biggest movie of all time. The number 1 spot held by Cameron's previous film, 'Titanic'

James Cameron's 3-D sci-fi epic earned $48.5 million across the United States and Canada during the three-day period beginning Friday, distributor 20th Century Fox said.

Its total rose to $429.0 million, making it the seventh-biggest movie of all time in North America, before accounting for inflation. The last movie to enjoy four consecutive weekends at No. 1 was the Batman movie, The Dark Knight, in 2008.

"Avatar" is the tale of a disabled ex-Marine sent from Earth to infiltrate a race of 10-foot (3-meter) blue aliens and persuade them to let his employer mine their homeland for natural resources. It was reportedly the most expensive film ever made, with a budget of at least $300 million.

Let your voices be heard and tell me what you think!!!

Virgin Mobile Ad Pulled, Too "Provocative"!

"Calgary Transit will remove two of three ads after 'several' customers found them offensive, spokesman Ron Collins said yesterday. A third Virgin Mobile ad, which features a man and woman kissing with his hand on her clothed thigh, has been deemed acceptable and will remain, said Collins. 'The two that we've removed were a little bit too provocative,' he said. Virgin Mobile spokesman Nathan Rosenberg said the company is surprised by the reaction. 'It's quite interesting for us because these are the sorts of images people are bombarded with every day,' he said.' We don't think that we're actually doing anything that encourages people not to express their love in a healthy relationship or in a healthy kind of way.'"

This is the ad that will stay up however:

Simon Cowell and Ms. Ellen Talk Gay on Idol

In an upcoming issue of Entertainment Weekley, Cowell and the newest addition to the judging table discuss everything from homophobia on the show to the "gay" banter between Cowell and host Ryan Secrest.

"While Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres haven’t had a lot of time to spend together since DeGeneres signed on as the newest American Idol judge last September — he’s been in London shooting The X-Factor, while she’s been in LA working on her Emmy-winning talk show — the duo have no problem being honest with each other about their relationship as soon-to-be coworkers.

“Simon really is, in my opinion, mean to people sometimes,” says DeGeneres, who makes her first appearance on Idol when Hollywood Week kicks off on Feb. 9. “So I think I’ll be hard [as a judge], but if he’s rude, I’m going to let him know he’s rude.”

“And I may disagree with you,” Cowell retorts. “If everything is ‘After you,’ ‘No, after you,’ that’s uncomfortable.”
